Trained by Civil Ceremonies, I completed and passed the National Qualification NONC Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy. As a professionally trained Funeral Celebrant, I will help to create a truly personal funeral ceremony that is exactly as you wish it to be.
Not everyone wants the same type of funeral, and I will meet with you to discuss the ceremony fully. You will be able to check the ceremony content beforehand and I will offer you a full text of the ceremony to keep afterwards. The ceremony will capture the very essence of the person and tell the story of the life that has been lived.
Pet Funeral Ceremonies
As a pet owner myself, I know how much a part of our families our pets are. So much so, when our beloved pets sadly passes away, they leave a huge gap in our lives.
In a family, when a pet dies, it could be the first time our children experience loss and mourning, but more and more, families are turning this into a very therapeutic process for the next generation and now want to arranging a funeral or memorial service for their beloved companion. As adults, the loss of a pet is a very significant event in our lives and in a changing world, for some people, animals are their only companion, and the loss can be devastation. While they are with us, our pets give companionship and unconditional love, are non-judgemental and only ask for food and our love, but we do our utmost to enhance their quality of life, and a proper funeral is a befitting next step for us to take on their behalf.
I can help you by creating a service which can include sharing memories of your pet or poetry, readings including symbolic rituals (planting a tree, lighting a candle or installing a commemorative sculpture). I am happy to conduct the funeral ceremony at a crematorium and/or a blessing at your home for the commemorative rituals.
Although based in Aberdeen, I’m not restricted to this area and would be happy to travel wherever you need me to be, I offer a free consultation, where we can discuss your requirements and ensure that your dear companion is given a memorable and dignified ceremony.
Thank you for the wonderful service you did for Bob and all the little extras which meant so much to the boys and me. Yes, you certainly went over and above the call of duty. and it was very much appreciated. Anyway, I am finally getting my act together with trying to empty the house and spreading Bob’s ashes this Saturday which would have been our 50th wedding anniversary. Thank you so much for all that you did. It was a great comfort to the family that Bob was certainly in safe hands.
Sorry it’s taken me until now to get back to you, this is me back full time to work this week. Thank you for the service you did, it couldn’t have been more Larry if we had tried. Everyone said that that they were unsure about how the funeral would be taking into consideration the current restrictions but there were lots of compliments. Thank you, Anne, for all your help, support and kindness throughout, it is very much appreciated by us all.
I must thank you for the way you have helped our family remember Dad. It was a wonderful send off to Dad, it’s such a pity the restrictions are in place and more people couldn’t be there to celebrate his life. I have seen photos of the keepsake for Mum, what a wonderfully memento, Mum was so touched with this . I’m going up to Aberdeen soon so will see it properly then . We are all doing ok , trying to keep busy in these strange times. Thanks again for all your help, you’ve been fab.
This is just a quick e-mail to say thanks so much for the lovely service. The memory box and candles etc. which you dropped off at Neil’s work earlier this week were all a lovely surprise and very thoughtful of you. You must have spent so much time on them and they’re such a nice keepsake. Mum would have been so proud of how the service went and a couple of my aunties even said it was the best funeral they’ve ever been to! I am back at work this weekend was speaking to one of my work colleagues/friends who said that she’d been to a really nice funeral last year and it turned out that you had conducted that one also! I’m so glad Neil suggested having it at Baldarroch as it was such a lovely crematorium and Kathy was so helpful and considerate. You were a pleasure to deal with and made a difficult situation so much easier. You really seem to care and everything was very personal to us. Even the little video you made with Izzy really cheered us up the day before the funeral . Thanks again for everything and hopefully meet again in happier circumstances.
I just felt I had to email you as you went above and beyond. We felt like we had known you forever even after the first meeting and that a good friend of our family was conducting the service on the day which made it very personal. Izzy 🐶 loved you too. Both me and Scott were so impressed how well behaved she was during the service although it did feel like she was saying/howling goodbye to her granny during the reflections and the slideshow (which upset us even more😢). Please feel free to share my message. Take care and keep up the good work. I’ll certainly be recommending you to everyone!
Thank you so much for today and the lovely mementos . You really made our mums day so special. Again a million times thank-you ❤️
Just wanted to thank you again for the funeral transcripts and also for the beautiful photo montage in memory of my Mum. That was such a lovely surprise. Thanks too for making the service so special. These are such difficult times and I was dreading the funeral but you made it so personal to my Mum and our family and helped to make it more like a celebration of her life which is what she would have wanted.
Package received today, and thank you so much. The keepsake is fantastic and just captures so much of his life, great little touch. Also thanks again for service on the day, we were all pleased with the send off for Dad.
Received your parcel today. Sylvia would have loved the framed collage, so do I. Thanks very much for all you have done for us. Really appreciate it. I’ll tell the boys to get in touch when it’s my turn. Hopefully not for a while yet!
Can’t but thank you so very much for today you did an amazing service for mum thanks, sorry I couldn’t speak just couldn’t do it 😪, but ever one said how good your service was your a star 🙂X
I picked up the transcript today and we got a lovely surprise with the photo frame with my dads life picture story in it. You have put a lot of thought and care into the picture which we thank you very much. You really are a remarkable lady with a special gift.
I just thought I would take this opportunity to thank you so much for the things you left at Kaimhill, we scattered my brother, William’s, ashes on Thursday afternoon. We really appreciated all you did for us, it was a lovely service. I will treasure the box picture, lots of memories, absolutely fantastic. Again, on behalf of myself and my family, thank you very much.
Just wanted to say, on behalf of myself and the family, a big ‘thank you’ for the way you conducted the service to celebrate Bert’s life. I think we did him proud, it was a lovely service. Thank you again Anne, we also appreciated the time you spent with us gathering the information. Did you say you send out a transcript of the service for us to keep.
We all can’t thank you enough for your time and the way you managed to deliver what we all really, really wanted for dad. Like you had said we only had one shot at it and we are all so pleased with your guidance we managed to deliver. It’s thanks to you our last memory of dad is the one we all hoped it would be and we will be forever grateful for this. Much appreciated
Just like to thank you personally once again for the very special way you portrayed all of Charlies friends and colleagues within our team operating at BP North Sea HQ as I know it meant so very much to them all today. This was especially felt by a number of colleagues including both Jordan Cooper and Ken Fraser who were fortunate to have been able to attend today’s service. You certainly managed to generated some very special and genuinely fond memories of a person very special to us and so many others.
Just a quick thank you for your services yesterday, and for the keepsake, it’s a lovely reminder, very much appreciated that you went to all that trouble, Thanks again, everyone commented about how lovely the story was and very fitting for mum 😊 Cheers
Thank you so much for today and the lovely mementos. You really made our mums day so special. Again, a million times thank-you ❤️
Anne thank you so much it is perfect. You have captured my mum exactly. God bless you x
I can’t thank you enough for today it was so lovely also my family would like to say a big thank you too for what you did for my brother X
We got home yesterday with huge smiles on our faces, the whole day was a great success, especially how you portrayed Dad. It was very special.
Mum and Myself would like to thank you for the lovely service yesterday for our beloved Bob. I have never come across such a dedicated warm and thoughtful person at a gathering like Dads. Even down to the stunning Blue Roses for each of us and your matching shoes wow. We appreciated your compassion warmth and kindness. I took my blue rose home to press in a frame in the memory of dad. Thank you.
I can’t thank you enough for today, it was beautiful. You really made it beautiful. Thank you so much, and the picture is just amazing my mum and the family absolutely adores it.
I just want to pass on our thanks and appreciation for all you did for my mum and the family during this sad time. The service although difficult for us all was poignant and moving. Linda and I appreciate the kindness and compassion you showed mum. As I said before we shall be having an event next year for all family and friends to come together to celebrate Stuart and we would be pleased if you can take part.
The family and myself would like to thank you for the lovely service you prepared and presented for my Aunt yesterday. Under the present difficult circumstances, it exceeded our expectations The framed keepsake was a lovely surprise, which I only discovered once we were home. I intend giving it to my sister as I know she’ll love it.
You really have given us all the very best we could ever have asked for. Ethel really did get a great send off. You really have exceeded all possible expectations of how a very sad occasion can be captured and provide such a lovely family keepsake. As I have said before I wish I had something similar for my parents & sister. I have a lot of memories so maybe with this lockdown I will take time to capture them and make something similar. It is then something that can be passed down through the generations & give an insight in to their lives. The folders you prepare are great and the “photo of memories” is absolutely fabulous. You certainly have a very aptly named business.
My Mum and I would like to say another thank you for giving my Dad such a good send off. It must be so hard for you all just now. We’ve been thinking of you a lot. We were one of the lucky ones being able to say Goodbye to my Dad properly in a manner my Dad would have liked. There were many who were unable to attend the funeral on the day due to illness but everyone that managed to attend mentioned how suited the service was to my Dad. We really appreciate all the time and care that you gave us.
What can I say, from the moment we met you put us completely at ease. You drew from us so gently all the information required to conduct a fitting service for my Mum and Nana, Dorothy. The service was lovely and everyone who attended really enjoyed it. It was perfect in every way. Your gift which I won’t describe and spoil it for anyone else was so thoughtful and sums up the lovely lady you are. Thank you so much for everything.
Thank you so much for my mums script and making her send-off memorable day and a special thank you for your lovely gift of all our mums memories for us to treasure.
Thank you so much I cried when I saw the photo frame thank you so much I’m so glad I chose you. You listen to everything I said and dealt with my worry’s so well. I’ve just arrived home from a long drive to Scotland I had to clear dads house not an easy thing to do it took 5days the step family came too it was difficult I scattered some off dad’s ashes I’m back in May to do the rest dad wanted to be everywhere that mattered to him so it will be done. Thank you again xx
I am writing to thank you for your kindness, consideration and beautiful words at my husband‘s funeral. Your compassion really helped me on the day. It was a beautiful touch with the gold carnation and the yellow roses for my daughters. The ‘tardis’ made an impression on everyone.
On behalf of all the family I would like to thank you so much for guiding us through the difficult process of saying goodbye to our Mum in a way we were all comfortable with. You did a fantastic job of collating so much information into a lovely, compassionate summary of Mum’s life. Everyone commented afterwards on what a beautiful service you conducted.
Would like to thank you for a lovely service today you did Stanley proud. Everyone we spoke to there commented how good the service was.
My family and I would like to thank everyone at took the time to go to my brother Kevin’s funeral service yesterday to pay their last respects to him. And a big thank you to Anne Wels who done the lovely service and Gordon Mackay who spoke about his long life friend. Thanks again.
Just a quick message to say thank you for conducting the service for Gordon last week. It was a sad day, but I loved hearing all the stories that you compiled. I’d also like to send a huge thank you for the thoughtful and beautiful memory box you made for mum. What a lovely thing to do.
Thank you so much for today’s service, it was just perfect and I’m sure Mum would have approved. Everyone enjoyed Mum’s story, most people didn’t know about her early years before she came to Aberdeen, so they got to know another side of her. Thank you for pulling it all together so well.
Thank you so much for the lovely service, which you delivered beautifully. Your kindness and thoughtfulness made it easier on the day and everyone who attended felt the same.
After the sudden & unexpected death of my mother, we were put in safe hands with Anne who gave quite memorial service. Working with Anne was a wonderful throughout and made this difficult time less stressful. The service was great and we’ve a lot of positive feedback from people. The sunflowers were such a nice touch. Anne went above & beyond and very surprised with the final visit of the shadowbox frame about my mum. You gave her the send-off she deserved. Thank you again Anne!
I would just like to say a huge thank you for the lovely service you provided for my dad, Michael on the 6th of Sept. Your words were so kind and caring and lots of friends and family have said that you spoke as if you knew my dad personally. It was the perfect ceremony, and the family were so glad that we got to meet you and for you to provide my dad with the perfect send-off he deserved. I will definitely recommend you to anyone who may require your service but I wanted to let you know how delighted so many people were that we chose a celebrant to do the funeral and that you most certainly spoke, straight from the heart. My mum was delighted with the lovely photo frame and service booklet you gave her. You’re a very special person and we all wish you well in the future. 100% the best choice we made having you speak so caringly about my dad. He is missed so much by us all. Mum said you would send a few words that we could say as we scatter his ashes, if you can this would be great but if there is no time don’t worry. so pleased as a family we all got to meet you, Anne. You truly are a wonderful person. love from
Anne did the most beautiful & amazing job helping us give the brightest send off for my brother, she put him across exactly how he was & it was genuinely the send of we dreamed of. She’s so hard working, professional, caring & supportive throughout the whole time working with the family & makes sure everything you need to help along the way is there! Really couldn’t recommend Anne more. Thank you for everything Anne, we really never will forget you & how perfect you made our boys big day. 🌈✨
Many thanks for all your hard work- everything went well, and the service was well received by the family. You made a difficult thing run smoothly. Once again, many thanks
Thank you so much for the lovely service you conducted for Louise. Most of the people there (from my church) didn’t know Louise personally, just about her battle with cancer and though they were sad at the circumstances they all said it was lovely to hear about her life and that you did a lovely job portraying it and the poem touched so many of them, thank you on behalf of my family and myself Anne xx
I just wanted to message to say thank you for everything and for the frame you gave to mum on Friday, it was so lovely and thoughtful. It means a lot, just wanted to say big thanks directly.
The funeral service for mum was lovely. I am sure the memory frame and transcript will be of great comfort for my dad. We are grateful for the lengths you went to in gathering stories about them. Many thanks once again
We would like to say a “Big” Thank You for listening to and trying to decipher our stories about our mum. Speaking to you has certainly helped the grieving and taught us to embrace and celebrate the wonderful life mum had, and to go and do the same and have a laugh along the way. The service you gave us was wonderful.
Thank you for the lovely service for dad. It was so right for him in every way.
We would like to thank Anne for the wonderful, thoughtful service that she did for my uncle Billy, the care and attention to detail was perfect, she even did some searching into his army life and told us a few things we did not know about him, she made us smile, laugh and shed a tear , it felt like she knew Billy very well. Once again from the family thank you Anne, I would wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone.
There is no way I can thank Anne enough for the lovely service she gave myself and my family today, we scattered George’s ashes at sea where we worked for many years. The personal touches that she put into every part of the service made it very personal and greatly appreciated, Anne truly has a heart of gold and George would be over the moon that this lovely lady made it all happen just the way he would have liked it. I will be forever grateful for today Anne,
Anne, my family and I were so pleased with the ceremony you organised for my Dad Ronnie’s funeral. You created a service that really captured how he was and how much we loved him. Receiving the framed pictures and the script for Mum, myself and Julie was extra special. Thanks again.
Anne cannot thank you enough for your efforts today on our behalf, you listened to our stories and turned them into the best eulogy ever, I personally felt like I had made a friend of you during the process, my mom had never been to a funeral that was non-religious before, and she loved your delivery and feeling that you put into it on the families behalf.
From the bottom of our hearts, the family want to say a massive ‘thank you’ for preparing and conducting such a lovely thoughtful funeral service for our mum and for all the work you did in advance of it and following it. At such a difficult time, you made everything so much easier and were a source of strength to us all. Thank you also for the beautiful, framed memories you made up for us of our mum, we love it.
From first point of contact with Anne she was very professional and caring and put our whole family at ease. Anne spent plenty of time with our family getting to know about mum and made a point of including every family member. Anne was always in regular contact during the whole process with updates or a kind word. The service was conducted beautifully with a few laughs and giggles along the way. It felt as if Anne had known my mum for years. After a week or so Anne presented my dad with a memory frame that had significant reminders of my mum’s favourite things. I can’t thank Anne enough for what she has done for our family at this sad time. Anne is a true gem with a heart of gold that goes that extra mile. Thank you.
You’re brilliant! A wonderful lady with a massive heart. Xx
Thank you so much for the lovely service you did for my mum. You listened to our stories & turned them into a beautiful eulogy & supported us throughout. We cried, we laughed, we sang, just the send-off mum would have been proud of. At the wake everyone was saying how lovely you were & how beautiful the service was. From the family & myself thank you so much.
